LOL SURPRISE

Project Overview.

Worked with MGA Entertainment to rapidly enhancing their direct to consumer site before the Holidays through hands-on engagement, that delivered improvements in customer journey friction and site performance.
Our goal was to improve the overall product experience specifically on the PDP.

Discovering Solutions.

The overall product page layout provides the structure, the sequence, and a large part of the aesthetics of the product page content. Leveraging our vision, value, and realization methodology we were able to uncover valuable insights for improving the PDP for the Holidays.

Highlights of what we found

  • The current page layout makes it difficult to explore the product details users need when making a purchasing decision.
  • The product images are among the most utilized product page content, however the usability of inspecting the images was poor and detrimental to users.
  • Shipping cost is a key motivator to users’ purchasing decision, however free shipping wasn’t promoted appropriately so that users didn’t know when they qualified for free shipping.
  • Reviews are critical to users’ purchasing decision, however reviews weren’t easily accessible on the PDP.

Bringing Solutions to Life.

Our final designs are informed and guided by the data and insights.  After understanding and discovering opportunities for improvement we began to dive deeper into solutions.

We streamlined the user experience by:

  • Creating a more interactive and immersive image carousel with a zoom functionality that allowed users to see more, a more detailed view of the product.
  • Appling more relevant marketing tactics
  • Updating the layout of the page, re-organized content and hierarchy.
  • Re-invisioning cross-selling opportunities to increase average order size
  • Adding lifestyle imagery/video showing the experience of the product, its size, and scale.
